Sam Harper looked to be caught behind for a duck next ball, but on the batsman’s review the decision was reversed.

The Renegades were then given a free hit, after the Strikers had one too many fielders on the leg side as the first over went for 13 runs.

Aaron Finch in his 100th game was nearly bowled, but the ball failed to dislodge the stumps.

Peter Siddle trapped Sam Harper lbw for 1 after a failed review from the Renegades to have the hosts reeling at 3-16.

The Strikers made 7-142 from 20 overs after being sent in by the Renegades at Marvel Stadium, with Alex Carey (65) the only batter to get past 20.

Matt Short was out caught and bowled for a third ball duck, giving Tom Rogers his 21st wicket of BBL12 in a horror start for the Strikers.

The Strikers’ 1-15 from their first four overs was the lowest ever power surge from an Adelaide side.

Travis Head had 21 dot balls in his 19 off 32, before he was caught on the rope by Will Sutherland off Fawad Ahmed.

Adam Hose smashed a towering six, but was caught by Sutherland off Corey Rocchiccioli next ball for 11 off seven balls.

Colin de Grandhomme came and went for 8 caught by Jono Wells to give Ahmed his second scalp.

Ryan Gibson could only manage 7, before he became Ahmed’s third victim, caught by Tom Rogers.

Ahmed finished with figures of 3-17 from four overs with 18 dot balls in the spell of the innings for the Renegades.

Alex Carey held the innings together with 65 from 47 balls, including nine fours and a six, before he was caught on the rope by Wells off Kane Richardson.

Cameron Boyce was run out for 1 by Wells to have the Strikers in trouble at 7-118 in a contentious decision with bowler Kane Richardson appearing to dislodge the bails first with his hands.

Harry Nielsen (18) and Wes Agar (5) were unbeaten at the end to push the target to 142 for victory for the Renegades.
