Ex-AFL player turned Logie-winning TV host Tony Armstrong has played a starring role in a huge local footy turnaround and premiership win.
Armstrong helped Barwon Heads claim the Bellarine FNL senior flag on Saturday, winning 12.12 (84) to 3.11 (29) over minor premiers Torquay.
Making the win more impressive was that Torquay beat Barwon Heads by 75 points just two weeks ago in the semi-final, meaning there was a 130-point turnaround between the two teams in just a fortnight.

Armstrong joined up with the club at mid-season due to his friendship with ex-Collingwood and St Kilda tall Nathan Brown, who also plays there.
Barwon Heads coach Daniel Donati told the Geelong Advertiser he was “lost for words” after the Grand Final win.
“I can (believe it), I definitely can, you don’t ever come into a grand final not believing it, or else you’re no chance,” Donati said.
“I guess I am a little bit lost for words because you just never know how they (grand finals) are going to play out.
“You have full belief in your system and what you’re doing. We had a great build up, we really did.”
It was Barwon Heads’ sixth BFNL senior premiership.
Armstrong played 35 games across Adelaide, Sydney and Collingwood before moving into the media, winning the Best New Talent award at this year’s Logies.
