It was the Rabbitohs’ superstars that stood up in their 30-14 win over the Roosters to keep the season alive.
Latrell Mitchell was everywhere in the first half, but it was Cody Walker who had the ball on a string, setting up four tries.
Skipper Cameron Murray and underrated centre Campbell Graham got through a mountain of work, while try-scoring machine Alex Johnston bagged a double.

1. LATRELL MITCHELL 8.5
Knew he’d be greeted to boos once again from the Roosters fans but that didn’t rattle him. Threw a cutout pass in the lead-up to the Bunnies’ first try, then scored a crucial try while the Rabbitohs were down to 11 men to snatch the lead.
2. ALEX JOHNSTON 8
Scored a try and then saved a Roosters try all within the first 10 minutes. Got his second try in the 46th minute to extend the Bunnies’ lead. Finished with over 100 running metres, three tackle busts and three linebreaks.
3. ISAIAH TASS 7.5
Threw the final ball in Alex Johnston’s first try of the night and then had the confidence to back himself to throw a dummy and score the match-sealer.
4. CAMPBELL GRAHAM 8.5
Got his side out of trouble several times with powerful runs — including one that kickstarted a set Johnston scored on the end of. Was also tireless in defence, coming up with a crucial tackle on Kevin Naiqama late in the game.
5. TAANE MILNE 6
Collected Joseph Suaalii high and was sent to the bin — while Tom Burgess was already serving 10 minutes — forcing the Rabbitohs to 11 men. He was sent for his second stint in the bin in the second half for a high shot on Connor Watson — once again sending the Bunnies to 11 men with Tevita Tatola already in the bin.
6. CODY WALKER 9
Was instrumental in the win with four try assists. Sent Latrell Mitchell through a hole to score and snatch the Rabbitohs the lead, threw the floater to send Alex Johnston over in the second half and put in a grubber for Jai Arrow. Got a well-deserved early mark with five minutes to go.
7. LACHLAN ILIAS 7
Started to feel the pressure as the clock wound down in the first half and kicked out on the full. The young halfback also dropped the ball off a kick-off. But he had some commendable moments in defence that his coach will be proud of.

8. TEVITA TATOLA 7.5
Missed 10 minutes of the first half due to a H.I.A and then missed another 10 minutes in the second time — this time it was self-inflicted after shoving Egan Butcher’s head into the ground. Made the most of his time on the field though, amassing 100 running metres, a tackle bust and 22 tackles with two misses.
9. DAMIEN COOK 7
Coughed up the ball after a hit from Matt Lodge and looked to pick up a shoulder injury. Left the field for a breather in the 58th minute and didn’t return. We didn’t see his electric foot work but he made 26 tackles with just one miss.
10. MARK NICHOLLS 6.5
Wasn’t the Bunnies’ most damaging forward, only getting 56 running metres, but was relatively solid in defence with 19 tackles and two misses.
11. KEAON KOLOAMATANGI 7.5
A beast on both sides of the ball with 117 running metres, three tackle busts, two offloads and 27 tackles with three misses. It was clear his presence was felt on the field.
12. JAI ARROW 8.5
Huge performance from Arrow, who got three 77 minutes of work. Dived on a Cody Walker grubber to score a crucial try and finished with a team high of 129 running metres as well as four tackle busts and 30 tackles with just one.
13. CAMERON MURRAY 9
Got knocked around a bit but got through 80 minutes and even had enough ticker late in the game to make a break. Finished with 109 running metres, three tackle busts, an offload, a linebreak and a flawless 37 tackles with no misses.

14. KODI NIKORIMA 3
Only got five minutes on the field, making three tackles.
15. HAME SELE 6.5
Was solid in his 25 minutes on the field with 75 running metres and 14 tackles with zero misses.
16 THOMAS BURGESS 7
After being the target of the Roosters’ brutality, he returned serve with a high shot on James Tedesco and then one on Matt Lodge, forcing referee Ashley Klein to send him to the bin. Burgess ended up failing a H.I.A in the 50th minute, finishing the game with 79 running metres, four tackle busts and 10 tackles with zero misses.
17. SILIVA HAVILI 6
Wasn’t a standout but didn’t do anything wrong, finishing with 45 metres and a solid 19 tackles and just one miss.
21. MICHAEL CHEE KAM 6
The Rabbitohs’ replacement player got unexpectedly thrown into the action and got 23 running metres, two tackle busts and 7 tackles, but three misses in his 20 minutes on the field.
