Collingwood forward Jack Ginnivan is under fire after an apparent chicken-wing tackle on Geelong star Patrick Dangerfield in last weekend’s qualifying final.
The young Magpie appeared to wrench back on Dangerfield’s left arm while teammate Taylor Adams was holding the Brownlow medallist down on his other side.
The incident was seen on the main TV broadcast but not with an angle that showed Ginnivan’s action, which can only be spotted on behind the goals vision.

Dangerfield was “furious” according to Herald Sun chief footy writer and AFL 360 host Mark Robinson.
“The down the ground footage, it’s not good. Seriously, it’s not good,” Robinson said on Fox Footy.
“Patrick Dangerfield, my understanding, he was furious at the time, furious when he got to the bench and spoke to the club after the game.
“You have to zoom right in. Ginnivan sort of rolls on him and grabs an arm and rolls him over. He winces there, Dangerfield.
“Arms aren’t supposed to do that, go in that direction.”
Ginnivan was not cited by the Match Review Officer, reportedly because he could not or did not see the incident take place.
“I spoke to Geelong today, they said that’s for the Match Review (Officer) to decide – well, they missed it. They didn’t see that,” Robinson said, adding he would’ve expected Ginnivan to be cited if it was spotted.
“You can’t be doing that.
“There’s codes in football amongst the players. There’s certain codes and chicken-winging is certainly out because the person’s vulnerable.
“You can pop a shoulder or dislocate an elbow. I’m not picking on Jack Ginnivan, but this is a great game to play, you’ve got to respect aspects of this game.
“Craig McRae and the footy department have got to sit him down and say, mate, that can’t be done. It can’t be done.”
