Collingwood midfielder Jordan De Goey had scans on Sunday morning after a shoulder concern suffered in Saturday’s qualifying final loss to Geelong.
De Goey went into the changerooms during the second quarter after sustaining the knock on-field, but returned to the game and performed superbly.
Pies coach Craig McRae indicated after the loss the club would seek clarity on the extent of De Goey’s injury.

Collingwood will face Fremantle at the MCG next week in a semi-final.
Melbourne star Christian Petracca is set to play through the pain of a broken leg, after scans revealed a “minor” hairline fracture from a nasty hit to his calf in Friday night’s loss to Sydney.
Petracca was kicked in the calf inadvertently by Lance Franklin early in the match and looked visibly troubled by the injury for the remainder of the match despite finishing with 24 disposals.
In a statement, Melbourne said their midfielder was prepared to play through his injury as the Dees back up in a semi final against Brisbane next week.
“The advice from our medical team is that a fracture of this nature will not rule Christian out of selection for our semi final,” Melbourne footy boss Alan Richardson said.
“The fracture poses no further risk to Christian and will not impact his ability to play.”
Richardson said the club was more concerned with the cork Petracca sustained in the same clash with Franklin.
“What will pose more of a challenge for Christian is the corky he sustained to his calf in a collision that occurred in the first quarter and hampered his movement for the majority of the match against Sydney,” he said.
“Obviously Christian will need to tick some boxes throughout training this week but we are confident that he will be ready to go come Friday.”
Two-time Norm Smith Medallist and commentator Luke Hodge questioned the call to play Petracca, if it meant the remainder of his finals campaign could be in doubt.
“What happens the first tackle of the game … if he cops a knee in the same spot and he’s out?” he said on SEN.
“It’s a big question for Melbourne.
“There’s going to be guards put on it to protect him, but it’s a massive call.”
Speaking after the 22-point loss to the Swans, coach Simon Goodwin was hopeful the Norm Smith medallist would be fit for next week’s game against Brisbane.
“He got a pretty significant kick from (Lance Franklin) just below the knee in the calf,“ Goodwin said.
“He’s just got a contusion that we’ll assess through the week, but he was pretty sore.
“Clearly, it limited his movement for the majority of the night. It had a bit of an impact on his game. But he’ll get that right, reset and hopefully be all-clear and ready to go next week.”
Journalist Sam Edmund also reported Charlie Spargo remained in hospital on Saturday morning after a hit to the throat that saw him lose his voice.
Additionally, forwards Bayley Fritsch and Jake Melksham are both set for scans for knee complaints.
Tom McDonald could be cleared for a return if needed, with the key forward training and playing with the VFL side last week.
McDonald has been absent from AFL level for more than three months due to a foot injury.
