Fremantle’s 2022 campaign ended on Saturday night, with several players struggling to have an impact on the semi-final stage.
Blake Acres could hold his head high — although it might’ve been his final game for the Dockers.

2. Griffin Logue
Kicked a goal in the third term thanks to great pressure from his teammates before adding another in the fourth term. Threatened to take mark of the year on several occasions. Likely his last game for the Dockers. 6
3. Caleb Serong
Racked up a stack of the footy and covered so much ground as per usual, finishing with 34 disposals. But wasn’t the same influence he had seven days earlier against the Dogs. 7
4. Sean Darcy
Took on Darcy Cameron and Mason Cox and was the dominant ruckman on the ground. Almost half of his hit-outs went to a teammate’s advantage, while he also won five clearances. 7
5. Lachie Schultz
Seemed like the only player forward of centre that kept the Dockers in the game in the first half. Gave his side a spark at the start of the second term, delivering the Dockers’ first two goals then had a hand in the team’s third major. 7
6. Jordan Clark
Started the match on Will Hoskin-Elliott. Went at 100 per cent by foot and had a team-high eight intercepts, but was caught with the ball a couple of times. 6
8. Andy Brayshaw
Worked his backside off all night with 32 touches. Still didn’t seem his usual, damaging self at the coalface. Didn’t have the most efficient night by foot, either. 7
9. Blake Acres
Admirable effort playing through pain. Started on a wing next to Steele Sidebottom and started strong with 10 first-quarter touches. Spent time off the ground in the second term being assessed for a knee issue after friendly before coming back on. Finished with 27 disposals, 569m gained, nine marks, seven intercepts and a kicking efficiency of 100 per cent. Could be his last game for the Dockers, though, with the wingman heavily linked to a move to the Blues. 8
10. Michael Walters
Kicked a much-needed goal just before three quarter-time to give the Dockers some hope. Finished with two majors from 11 touches. 6
11. James Aish
Started on a wing next to Josh Daicos. One of his quieter games of the year with 14 touches and went at 83 per cent by foot. 4
13. Luke Ryan
Was the Dockers defender that really stood up in the first half, plucking several intercept grabs and using the ball flawlessly by foot. Finished with 23 disposals, seven intercepts, a kicking efficiency of 100 per cent and 588m gained. 7
16. David Mundy
The end of an era. Fittingly kicked a goal late in the final term to cap off a brilliant stint. Started his career at the MCG in 2005 and finished it at the same venue on Saturday night — 17 years later. 6
17. Will Brodie
Attended the first centre bounce next to Jordan De Goey. Tough at the contest, tackled hard and most of his disposals were contested. 6
24. Jye Amiss
Pushed hard up the ground and took a couple of contested marks. 5
25. Alex Pearce
The stand-in captain had the match-up on Brody Mihocek, who had a hand in lots of Pies scores. Was under siege all night. 4
26. Hayden Young
Outstanding under a hell of a lot of pressure, particularly when winning intercepts. Looked composed and assured on the big final MCG stage with ball in hand. Finished with 21 disposals, 11 marks and eight intercepts. 7
27. Heath Chapman
Played on an array of Collingwood forwards but tried to get free to give the Dockers rebound where possible. Finished with 17 touches and seven marks. 5
30. Nathan O’Driscoll
Came off the bench but had little impact on the game and went at 33 per cent by foot. 4
31. Brandon Walker
Spent a lot of time on Jack Ginnivan, who had a big night. Also had some bad moments with ball in hand. 3
32. Michael Frederick
A terrific almost full-ground chase of Jack Crisp in the opening minutes set the tone for the Dockers. Barely sighted for the next two quarters before kicking two fourth-quarter goals, including a stunner from a tough angle. 5
36. Brennan Cox
Spent time on the resting rucks as well as Ash Johnson. Two terrific first-term tackles that won him holding the ball free kicks. Finished with 13 disposals and went at 90 per cent by foot. 6
37. Rory Lobb
Almost certainly his last game for Freo. Looked strong in the air and competed hard, but booted 0.2. 4
39. Sam Switkowski
Appeared to run with Nick Daicos for a lot of the game, although it was unclear if it was a natural match-up or defensive tag. Finished goalless but laid five tackles. 4
