The Knights have reportedly signed Broncos playmaker Tyson Gamble on a two-year deal.
Gamble was given permission to negotiate with rival clubs earlier this month and has landed a contract at Newcastle.
Brisbane coach Kevin Walters dropped young gun No. 6 Ezra Mam this week to start Gamble in the halves with their season on the line against the Dragons on Saturday night.

But it could now be his last game in a Broncos jersey, according to rugby league reporter Ben Dobbin.
The signing comes after the Knights missed out on keeping No. 6 Anthony Milford who signed with the Dolphins last month for 2023.
“The big news is that tomorrow (Wednesday), Tyson Gamble will be announced – a two-year deal – that he’s leaving the Brisbane Broncos and going to the Newcastle Knights,” Dobbin said on Triple M.
“It’s been talked about but it’s officially been signed and sealed and delivered and it’ll be happening, Tyson Gamble leaving.”
COWBOY ON THE MOVE
Cowboys hooker Reece Robson may once again wear the Red V of St George amid reports that the Dragons are keeping an eye on the 24-year-old.
The former NSWRL Under-20 Player of the Year will be free to enter talks with rival clubs from November 1 as he’s currently signed with the Townsville-based side until 2023.
The Australian’s Brent Read revealed this week that the Dragons are in the market for a No.9
“They’ve had a look at a couple of blokes,” Read said on Triple M.
“Jacob Liddle’s one, the other guy they’re really keeping an eye on who’s on their radar long term is Reece Robson, the Cowboys hooker.”
“He’s a former Dragons player,” Aaron Woods replied.
“Former Dragon, played 20s there I think alongside a few of those guys,” Read replied.
“He’s gone one year left on his deal on November 1 he’s able obviously to sign with another club and I reckon if he’s still off-contract, or doesn’t extend with the Cowboys by November 1 I expect the Dragons to have a red hot go at him.”
After joining the Cowboys in 2020, Robson has starred with the Cowboys, which has seen him earn selection in the New South Wales extended squad.

“He’s an interesting one Robson, because early last year I think it was this year, they offered him around, they were shopping around and then suddenly hit form and then took off,” Read said.
“He was in the extended squad and they’ve tried to extend him since then but he’s off talks until at least until after the season’s over.
“I know the Dragons are keeping a really close eye on Reece Robson and how the situation develops up there.
“As you said he’s a Dragons kid, I think he was a Cronulla junior, then he played 20s with Blake Laurie and a couple of other guys.
“He knows a few of the guys there.”

While Robson has been in red hot form with Todd Payten’s side, Read believes securing the 24-year-old won’t be easy as the Cowboys are “desperate” to retain him.
“He’s been outstanding this year for the Cowboys and I know they’re desperate to keep him up there,” Read said.
Woods was impressed has been impressed with Robson’s form this season, especially after cementing himself in the starting line up.
“He’s kicked Jake Granville out of a spot up there, he’s a premiership winner Jake Granville,” Woods said.
“To see how Reece Robson has come on and playing 80 minutes now and killing it.”
Moreover Read did conceded that the Dragons could be in hot water if they don’t secure Robson soon, revealing that the club’s minimal depth with hookers.
“It’s a real issue moving forward right if McCullough retires or if he does go around again,” Read said.
“Beyond that there’s no, I don’t think there’s a hooker coming through the system there is there.”
TIGERS HALFBACK SET FOR DEPARTURE

The 22-year-old has the likes of Luke Brooks, Adam Doueihi and Jackson Hastings standing in his way at the Tigers.
However the Panthers and the Bulldogs have reportedly displayed interest in the promising halfback, with Sean O’Sullivan set to join the Dolphins and Kyle Flanagan’s future with the Bulldogs all but stable.
“The Tigers just haven’t given him much of a chance and we feel he will do better at another club,” Madden’s manager Gavin Orr told Wide World of Sports.
Tigers boss Tim Sheens admitted that given the club’s current depth in the halves, the Leichhardt based side simply doesn’t have enough space for Madden.
“He can play and he is a good kid but we just don’t have room for him in our 13,” Sheens said.
“We have other players with more experience who we have committed to.”
REYNOLDS DESPERATE FOR BULLDOGS HOMECOMING
The Bulldogs are considering offering former Canterbury-Bankstown playmaker a train-and-trial deal to return to Belmore.
Reynolds and his manager George Mimis reportedly sat down with NRL supremo Phil Gould over the weekend according to the SMH, with the 160-gamer desperate to play one last season at his beloved Bulldogs.
The 33-year-old recently returned from a two-year stint in the English Super League with Hull FC which came to a premature end after a mutual agreement his contract would be terminated.
The Bulldogs want Reynolds involved with the club in some capacity and the former Origin playmaker will likely be given a chance to prove his worth in the off-season before any full-time commitment is made.
“Josh Reynolds sent me a text message some months ago that he was going to retire from the game in England and that he was coming back to Sydney and that he’d like to do something with the Bulldogs club,” Gould explained on Nine’s 100% Footy.
“I met him and his manager on the weekend and he raised the issue that he might train through the off-season and see whether or not he was ready to play.
“He’d like to do something with the young blokes and provide a bit of leadership around the club and having a respected old Bulldog around the club might be handy for us.
“At this stage there’s no problem with giving him an off-season of training, seeing how he feels and leaving it up to him.
“I said I would speak to the head coach and have him speak with Josh.”
Gould also explained that incoming coach Cameron Ciraldo will have the final say as to whether Reynolds will return, but his acquisition could be “handy”.
“Having a really respected old Bulldog might be handy for us, but I said I would speak to the head coach and have him speak with Josh,” Gould said.
“I’m very protective of senior players as to whether or not they’re doing the right thing or wrong thing by wanting to play.

“I understand his passion for it.
“There’s no problem with giving him an off-season training and (seeing) how he feels … but I’ll run it by Cameron Ciraldo.”
During his 138-game spell in Belmore, Reynolds was one of the club’s most important players — steering the ship to take the Bulldogs to two grand finals in 2012 and 2014 before leaving for the Tigers prior to the 2018 season.
DRAGONS UNREST AS HUNT ADDRESSES FUTURE
Dragons star Ben Hunt has addressed the speculation surrounding his playing future — with a number of clubs reportedly interested in signing the Maroons gun.
The 32-year-old has announced he wants to remain with the Red V, but Bulldogs supremo Phil Gould confirmed he met with Hunt regarding a potential transfer.
“Yes, I met with Ben and his manager,” Gould said to the SMH.
“It was a conversation to get to know him. I simply said if things don’t work out we’d like to chat to him then.”
Hunt has also been linked with a move north back to his native Queensland, with both the Titans and the NRL’s newest franchise, the Dolphins reportedly making a play for his services.
Despite being linked elsewhere, Hunt said is “happy” at the Dragons and wants to stay.
“Every day there seems to be something popping up,” Hunt said regarding his own situation, per AAP.
“I’ll just wait until the season’s over, I’ve only got one more week.
“We’ll get it sorted out and we’re working through it. I enjoy the club and I’m happy to stay.”
News that Hunt met with Gould comes as the playmaker baulked at an initial offer from the Dragons of $700,000 a seaso.
He also reportedly wanted to tie his own playing future to that of coach Anthony Griffin in any potential contract extension.
Meanwhile, Dragons forwards Jaydn Su’A and Blake Lawrie have reportedly been left disgruntled by the club’s disappointing season.

Su’A, who joined the club from the Rabbitohs this season, went as far as requesting a release from the final two years of his contract according to The Daily Telegraph.
Reports surrounding unrest at the Red V club began in July, and club officials condemned those leaking stories to the media.
St George Illawarra general manager of football Ben Haran played down the claims of player unrest and denied Su’A ever requested a release.
“We’ve heard a murmur about it but nothing formal has come to us,” Haran said. “Jaydn certainly hasn’t asked for a release. Not at this stage anyway.

“We’re all a bit frustrated about the way we’ve gone this year but Jaydn is a big part of our future.”
Su’A kicked off the year strong but his form was hampered by a syndesmosis injury which sidelined the backrower for six weeks.
As it stands, Su’A is contracted with the Dragons until the end of the 2024 season, while Lawrie, who is a St George Illawarra junior is off-contract at the end of 2023.
