A) Discovery Cove
The park opened on July 1, 2000, and is a sister attraction to Seaworld Orlando and Aquatica Orlando. Visitors can talk, touch, and play with marine animals such as bottlenose dolphins.
- The park features a free-flight aviary that houses over 250 tropical birds.
- The aviary is traversed by the heated Tropical River, which circles the park and allows guests to float past an assortment of Discovery Cove’s beaches, waterfalls, and rainforest landscapes. In the park’s freshwater resort pool, the Tropical River flows.
- This park expanded with the opening of “The Grand Reef” in June 2011. This reef was needed because the original reef had a persistent saltwater leak, which affected the groundwater and replaced the original reef with Freshwater Oasis.
- In the summer of 2012, the park introduced the Freshwater Oasis. The area features water-filled trails covered by a rainforest canopy that contains a viewing glass window.
