After a thrilling late victory over New Zealand in the first match of the ODI series, Australia will look to double down in Thursday’s second trans-Tasman clash in Cairns (2.20pm AEST).

Cameron Green posted a career best 89 not out – battling severe cramps on the way – to guide Australia home despite a late collapse in the first match. Alex Carey (85) also starred, but there are major concerns over captain Aaron Finch’s ongoing form slump, having managed just five runs.

Finch also posted a total of just 21 runs across the previous three-match ODI series against Zimbabwe, with his lack of runs ahead of the T20 World Cup looming as a serious worry.
